Never Man So Spake is a 1924 study of the teachings of Jesus by Howard B. Grose (1851-1939), the American Baptist editor who led the denomination’s missionary magazine Missions for decades. Taking its title from the gospel verdict on Jesus’s words, the book presents his sayings and method as the model for modern Christian teaching, written for the Bible-class audience Grose served all his life. It belongs to the devotional study literature of mainline Protestantism between the wars. Free PDF download available on BDeBooks.
