Old Plantation Days
De Saussure N. B.
Old Plantation Days is a 1909 memoir by Nancy Bostick De Saussure (1837-1915), recollecting antebellum life on a Southern plantation before the Civil War. Written in old age, it is a nostalgic first-person record of the vanished world of the Old South from a white planter-class viewpoint. The book is a primary source for the social memory of the antebellum South. Free PDF download available on BDeBooks.
