Peace on Earth, Good-will to Dogs

Eleanor Hallowell Abbott’s wonderful Christmas story  ‘Peace on Earth, Good-will to Dogs’ centers on a gang of endearing canine friends. The story revolves around Flame Nourice, a young woman and the daughter of a preacher, who offers to help after learning that someone is moving into an abandoned house.

The author has done a masterful job of capturing each dog’s personality and quirks, giving the dogs the illusion of being real persons with thoughts and feelings. The story is pro-dog and pro-Christmas, complete with the sounds of fir-balsam, tinsel, toy candles, and wrapping paper cracking.
