Paulo Freire builds a philosophy of education around the relationship between the oppressed and their oppressors. He argues that liberation is a mutual process rather than a gift, and he sets the "banking" concept of education against problem-posing education.
Later chapters present dialogue as the practice of freedom and contrast it with antidialogical action, which depends on conquest, manipulation and cultural invasion.
