About this book

K.A. Holt's endearing middle school tale "Redwood and Ponytail" is about friendship, first love, and self-discovery. The story is written in verse from the viewpoints of Tam, a tall athlete who is frequently confused for a guy, and Kate, a conventional cheerleader with a polished persona. They explore their identities and surprise one another as their friendship grows. Ideal for middle school and older students looking for themes that are real with meaningful.

About the author

K.A. Holt

K.A. Holt uses verse in Redwood and Ponytail to follow two middle-school girls as first impressions give way to friendship and a growing crush. Kate appears to be a polished cheerleader, while Tam is known as a tall volleyball player, yet each gradually sees the more complicated person behind the other girl's public image.
