Reminiscences of Service with the Twelfth Rhode Island Volunteers is a Civil War memoir by Pardon Elisha Tillinghast (1836-1905), who served with the regiment in 1862-63. Tillinghast records the camp life, marches, and battles of a nine-months regiment, including Fredericksburg, in the plain voice of a veteran writing for his old comrades. Such unit memoirs are primary sources for the social history of the Union army. Free PDF download available on BDeBooks.
