About this book

Rex Kingdon on Storm Island is a book by Gordon Braddock. The text says Storm Island, far off shore, was considered secure from invasion by irresponsible fishing parties and the like, by the trespass signs posted upon its beaches. The Manatee Lumber Company is named as owner or lessee of the mainland and Storm Island for several miles in either direction. Blackport is named as the nearest town, ten miles from the western point of the island.

A camping party receives a visit from a constable, and only one member of it seems to take the visit with any degree of composure. A character named Cloudman grumbles about a spilled kettle of hot water and asks how he can wash greasy pans without hot water. The text says that the Indian had grown more sullen than was his usual condition from the hour that Kingdon and Midkiff first landed on the island in their bathing suits.
