Seedtime in Kashmir is a memoir of the medical missionary William Jackson Elmslie, prepared with his widow Margaret Duncan Elmslie, who shared his Kashmir work. Elmslie founded the first medical mission in the Kashmir valley in the 1860s, learning the language and treating thousands before his early death. The book records the hardships and beginnings of Christian medical work in the Himalayas. It is a primary source for the missionary history of nineteenth-century Kashmir.
