Spiritual Philosophy, Volume 2 is the second volume of the posthumous philosophical work by Joseph Henry Green (1791-1863), the English surgeon and Hunterian Professor of Anatomy at the Royal College of Surgeons who was the literary executor and close friend of Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Green attended Coleridge’s Highgate philosophical evenings for many years and was entrusted by the poet with the task of completing his unfinished systematic philosophy. Green spent decades working on the project and the resulting two-volume Spiritual Philosophy was published in 1865 by his own executor John Simon. The work attempts to set out a Coleridgean Christian Platonist philosophy of nature, mind, and revelation. The book is a primary source for the reception and transmission of Coleridge’s later thought in Victorian England. Free PDF download available on BDeBooks.
