Tulsidas

Tulsidas was a sixteenth-century North Indian poet and devotee of Rama who composed the Ramcharitmanas in Awadhi. The work retells the Rama story in seven major sections and became central to vernacular devotional literature. SUNDERKAND and Sundarkand are two spellings attached to its fifth section, the Sundara Kanda, rather than separate compositions.
