That Very Mab is an 1885 satirical fantasy that May Kendall (1861-1943) wrote with Andrew Lang. The fairy queen Mab returns to a Victorian England she scarcely recognises, and her wondering eye becomes the vehicle for satire on science, religion, and society. Kendall was a sharp comic poet of the evolution debates whose light verse skewered the age; this early collaboration shows her wit in fiction. Free PDF download available on BDeBooks.
