About this book
The Benedict Option: A Strategy for Christians in a Post-Christian Nation by Rod Dreher is a controversial bestseller that calls on American Christians to prepare for the coming Dark Age by embracing an ancient Christian way of life. American churches have been hollowed out from within, and the challenges to religious liberty in a secularizing culture persist. Politics alone cannot address this spiritual crisis.
Instead, Dreher proposes the Benedict Option, drawing inspiration from St. Benedict of Nursia. This sixth-century monk retreated to the forest, creating enduring communities based on principles of order, hospitality, stability, and prayer.
