The Drama: Addresses is an 1892 collection of lectures by Sir Henry Irving (1838-1905), the towering Victorian actor-manager of London’s Lyceum Theatre and the first actor ever knighted. The four addresses, delivered between 1881 and 1891, set out Irving’s views on the art of acting, the dignity of the theatrical profession, and the place of drama in national life.
