About this book
The Expositor's Bible: The Book of Ezekiel is by the Rev. John Skinner, Professor of Old Testament Exegesis, Presbyterian College, London. The contents list, among others, a part called The Preparation And Call Of The Prophet and a part called Prophecies Relating Mainly To The Destruction Of Jerusalem. The text says Ezekiel's final ideal is on a lower plane, and therefore more immediately practicable, than that of Jeremiah.
The text says it is not necessary to enumerate all the points of coincidence between Jeremiah and Ezekiel, and names their conception of the prophetic office as one of the most important features they have in common. The text says that, excluding the supplementary prophecy of ch. xxix. 17-21, which is a later addition, the order appears to be strictly chronological. The text says Ezekiel can no more think of the land without a capital than of the state without a prince.
