The Influence of the Iroquois is a study by Arthur Caswell Parker (1881-1955), the archaeologist of Seneca descent who served as New York State Archaeologist and later led the Rochester Museum. Parker, a great-nephew of the Seneca general Ely S. Parker, wrote throughout his career to show how deeply the Iroquois Confederacy shaped the history of the Northeast, and this paper presses that case for a popular audience. His work stands at the start of Native American scholars writing the history of their own nations. Free PDF download available on BDeBooks.
