Liam O’Flaherty

Liam O'Flaherty (1896-1984) was an Irish novelist and short-story writer born in the Aran Islands. A veteran of the First World War and a founding figure of the Irish literary revival's grittier wing, he wrote in both English and Irish, often about violence, poverty, and rural life.
