Coussens, the American editor who compiled popular collections of tales for the young in the early twentieth century, including the well-known Child’s Book of Stories. This volume brings together stories with an Eastern flavour, illustrated for the gift market. Such anthologies furnished the nursery and schoolroom of their era.
