About this book

“The Mark of Athena,” the third installment in Rick Riordan’s “The Heroes of Olympus” series, continues the story from “The Son of Neptune.” The narrative begins with Annabeth reuniting with Percy after a six-month separation. However, Camp Jupiter appears to be gearing up for war.

As Annabeth and her friends Jason, Piper, and Leo arrive on the Argo II, it’s understandable that the Roman demigods perceive the ship as a Greek threat. Annabeth carries a gift from her mother, accompanied by a daunting command: Follow the Mark of Athena. Avenge me. The tale, told from the perspectives of four different demigods, takes the reader on an epic journey across land and sea to Rome.
