About this book

Sonia Shah investigates migration through encounters with researchers and observations of the natural world. The opening follows a search for elusive butterflies in the dry hills of southern California. Alongside this field visit, she recounts how an ecologist came to study the insects, introducing scientific work through the people and places involved.
