About this book

Andy Greene documents the making of The Office through interviews with its cast, writers, directors, producers and crew. Combining newly gathered accounts with archival material, he follows the comedy from its origins and casting through individual seasons, key episodes and its aftermath. This nonfiction history examines both the work on screen and the decisions behind its production.

In 2018 Rolling Stone published an oral history of a single episode of The Office, the fan favourite Dinner Party. It became the best-read piece Andy Greene had written in twenty years at the magazine, and the trust it earned him with the cast and writers grew into The Office: The Untold Story of the Greatest Sitcom of the 2000s, out in 2020.
