About this book
Emmy Engberts' engrossing young adult book "The Other Dress" explores the realms of identity and cosplay. Elliot, a shy boy who enjoys dressing up as Aoi, a female character from Magical Princess Club!, and Izzy, a girl who expresses herself authentically via dressmaking and cosplay, are the main characters of the story.
They find themselves drawn to one other when they decide to pair up for an AmAnime cosplay contest. The book explores their path of self-acceptance, self-discovery, and the potential for anything beyond friendship.
