About this book

The Richest Man in Babylon is George S. Clason's collection of parables about saving and wealth, set in ancient Babylon. Through stories of characters such as Arkad, the richest man in the city, Clason sets out simple rules for building money. The best known is to pay yourself first by keeping a tenth of everything you earn. The book also explains how to make savings earn more, guard against losses, buy a home, plan for future income and increase your ability to earn. It grew out of pamphlets that Clason distributed in the 1920s. The plain language and short stories make it a popular starting point for readers new to personal finance.
