The Sacrifice to the Morning Star by the Skidi Pawnee is an anthropological study by Ralph Linton (1893-1953), the American anthropologist who became one of the leading figures of the discipline and wrote The Study of Man. This Field Museum leaflet describes the Skidi Pawnee ritual of human sacrifice to the Morning Star, one of the few such rites documented in North America. Linton’s careful ethnography preserves a vanished religious practice. Free PDF download available on BDeBooks.
