About this book

The Secret Zoo is an alluring children’s book series brought to you by Bryan Chick, an American author. The series takes its inspiration from Chick’s childhood experiences at the Detroit Zoo, where he imagined what it would be like if there were hidden doors in the exhibits that allowed children to enter and animals to come out.

About the author

Bryan Chick

Bryan Chick was nine when visits to the Detroit zoo made him wonder whether hidden doors could let children enter the exhibits and animals leave them. That idea became The Secret Zoo, first published by his own Second Wish Press in 2007; Greenwillow, a HarperCollins imprint, issued a new edition in June 2010.
