The Thief

Jessica Brody’s book “The Thief” tells the tale of how the beloved character Chatine came to be. Chatine has experienced hardships throughout her life, having grown up as the daughter of scam artists. She longs for honest employment, a chance to leave her parents’ corrupt lifestyle, and an escape from the harsh streets when she gets to Vallonay, the country’s capital. She has been running from this route her entire life, and little does she know that it will take her to an unexpected place when she participates in her father’s most recent scam.
