About this book
The Twins, subtitled A Domestic Novel, is by Martin Farquhar Tupper. The contents list, among others, chapters titled THE GENERAL AND HIS WARD, AUNT GREEN'S LEGACY and CHARLES AT MADRAS. The text says that the captain was to come home again on furlough in five years at furthest, even if the aunt held out so long.
The text says that Mrs. Tracy wiped her eyes, bade adieu to her retreating lord in Plymouth Sound. The text calls Mrs. General Tracy one of those obstinate, yet superficial characters whom no reason can convince that they are wrong. The text says that during the first year of absence, ship-letters and India-letters arrived duteously in consecutive succession. The text describes a knot of fishermen, idling on the beach, who have noticed an uncommon flight of Royston crows gathered at the island.
