Rudolph Fisher

Rudolph Fisher (1897-1934) was an African American physician, novelist, and short-story writer central to the Harlem Renaissance. Trained as a doctor and skilled in radiology, he wrote fiction praised for its humor and ear for Harlem speech before his early death at thirty-seven.
