Touching from a Distance

Deborah Curtis’s biography, “Touching from a Distance,” describes her life and union with Ian Curtis, the lead vocalist of the British post-punk group Joy Division in the 1970s. The book explores Ian’s adultery, his unstable nature, their violent marriage, and his medical issues. which included depression and epileptic convulsions and probably contributed to his 1980 suicide. The book also has a discography, a gig list, and an entire collection of lyrics by Curtis.
