Uprooted

From the array of fantasies Uprooted by Naomi Novik is one of the most dark, and fascinating, the main character of which is a young woman from the village that is in danger because of the corrupted forest. Throughout the book, deep magic is unveiled when she becomes a wizard’s house-elf, and battles the evil of the forest. Beautifully written with wonderful world building the plot of the novel focuses on bravery.
