Whitman’s Ride Through Savage Lands is a book by Oliver Woodson Nixon (1825-1905), the American journalist who championed the legend of the missionary Marcus Whitman. Like his How Marcus Whitman Saved Oregon, it dramatises Whitman’s life and his famous ride for the American claim to the Oregon country.
