About this book
William Harvey is by D’Arcy Power. A chapter headed Early Life says that very little is known of the early life of William Harvey. The book says that Harvey's preliminary education was probably carried on in Folkestone, where he learnt the rudiments of knowledge, gaining his first acquaintance with Latin.
The book says that Harvey must have had some remembrance of the turmoil of the period, and that he remained at the King's School for five years, no doubt coming home for the holidays. The text quotes a passage saying that many persons, wholly without experience, from the presumed verisimilitude of a previous opinion, are often led by and by to speak of it boldly, as a matter that is certainly known.
