Wright Brothers National Memorial, North Carolina, is a book by Omega G. East. Wilbur is quoted as writing that from the time they were little children he and his brother Orville lived together, played together, worked together and, in fact, thought together.
The text says Mrs. Wright died in 1889, and that year the brothers assembled their printing press from old parts and began to publish a successful neighborhood weekly newspaper. The text says nearly 1,000 glider flights were made by the Wrights from Kill Devil, West, and Little Hills, and a number of the glides were of more than 600 feet. West Hill, the sand dune, was the scene of many of the Wrights' gliding experiments in 1901-3.
