When Hurricane Katrina struck, Zeitoun decided to remain in his Uptown residence. Post-hurricane, he traversed the flooded city in a used canoe, rescuing neighbors, looking after abandoned pets, and distributing fresh water. However, he was inexplicably arrested at one of his rental properties by a combined force of U.S. Army. Accused of terrorism, he was held for 23 days. The book serves as a powerful testament to human resilience.
