About this author

The translation is another whole genre of literature, to Bangladeshis the one person who made that apparent is none other than G H Habib. Gabriel García Márquez’s ‘Nishongotar Eksho Bochor’ and Norwegian Jostein Gaarder’s ‘Sofir Jogot’, these two translated works of his had made quite an impression on his flourishing career.

He was born in 1967 in Dhaka, and he spent his whole student life in Dhaka, in Mirpur he read in Shahid Abu Taleb Biddaniketon, and then entered Mirjapur Cadet College where he completed his higher secondary studies. He then entered Jahangirnogor University and studied English literature.

Currently, he is working as a teacher at Chottogram University in the English division, even while working there, he has been working on translations.
