Upendrakishore Ray Chowdhury was born on 12 May 1863, in Moshua, Mymensingh District, Bengal Presidency, British India (Present-day Kishorganj District, Dhaka Division, Bangladesh).He was a Bengali writer, painter, and entrepreneur. He was the first person who introduced color printing in Bengal. He started the first color children's magazine Sandesh in 1913.
