Dahan is Suchitra Bhattacharya’s novel about the aftermath of a public sexual assault in Calcutta and how it shapes a friendship between two women — the survivor and a witness who tries to support her. The book was adapted to a famous Rituparno Ghosh film.

Difficult but important reading. One of Suchitra Bhattacharya’s strongest novels.
