Pak Sar Jomin Sad Bad is one of Humayun Azad’s most controversial books, a novel that uses the Pakistani national anthem as its title and examines the political violence and religious extremism the writer saw in contemporary Bangladesh. Humayun Azad was attacked in 2004 because of his writing and died not long after.
The book is angry and direct. Reading it is part of understanding why Humayun Azad mattered to so many readers.
