The Art of Thinking Clearly by Rolf Dobelli, available here in Bengali translation, is a book about cognitive errors — the small, repeating mistakes that human reasoning makes without our being aware of them. Dobelli, drawing on the work of psychologists like Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky, organises these errors into short, sharp chapters: confirmation bias, the sunk-cost fallacy, survivorship bias, the availability heuristic, and many more.

Each chapter is only a few pages long. Dobelli explains the bias, gives a clear example, and moves on. There is no long theoretical framework. The book is useful precisely because it is structured for browsing — readers come back to chapters they need at the moment, not in the order in which they appeared.

For Bengali readers new to behavioural economics, this is one of the simplest and most rewarding entry points. It will not make you immune to thinking errors — no book can — but it will make them much easier to see in yourself and others.
