In this Trishna By Zahir Raihan, the author tries to highlight some of the worst aspects of society. These are foreigners, illicit relationships, body business, etc. The main character of the novel is Shawkat. An unemployed man And at the same time, the symptoms of his cowardice are obvious. He lives in a densely populated area. There he meets a married woman named “Martha.” Although Martha Shawkat’s predecessor. Their relationship takes the form of an alien from a car. At one point, they both started weaving their dream nets.
They will have a family, a small house, a small shop, a baby in their coals. That’s why they try their best to earn money. Whether it is in the right way, or not. Martha is ready to accept any sacrifice for her illicit love. Martha and Shawkat are residents of the same area. Very close to their home. One of their neighbors is Selina, a dancer, wife of a beating clerk, some of the gamblers. Also featured in the novel is a unique character, named “old Ahmed Hossain.” To me, these people seem like a mystery. However, the point is that through this older man, the author has exposed many immoral contents of society.
Towards the end of the story, Martha begins selling drugs in her shop in an improper way to increase her income. As a result, the police arrested him. But Shawkat’s feeling was careless. She didn’t even try to make Martha out of the police. Instead, Shawkat had taken it upon himself. At the very end, an unimaginable event can be traced to Shaukat.
He suddenly went to the clerk’s door, cut off the clerk’s head with a knife. The clerk was killed in the hands of Shaukat. The clerk’s hand was behind the possible arrest of Martha. As the murder escapes, Shawkat sees the dancer Selina standing and watching her performance. When Shawkat was running away to cover himself, Selena grabbed hold of her hand while she was leaving. Selina also did not attempt to stop him. Shawkat’s partner in the running is Selina.
