A. J. Hackwith
The Library of the Unwritten is set in a wing of Hell that holds every book its author never finished, staffed by a librarian whose job includes chasing down characters who have escaped their own unwritten manuscripts. The premise sounds like a joke and the series takes it seriously: an unwritten book still wants to exist, and its people still want their story. The Archive of the Forgotten follows. Hackwith writes from Seattle and works in the same territory as the portal fantasies of the last decade while being noticeably more interested in bureaucracy than in wonder.
