Adam Maxwell

Adam Maxwell writes crime capers from Northumberland, where he lives with his family. His first book, Dial M for Monkey (2006), collected twenty short stories and flash pieces, including Jim Morrison's Leg and Shooting Jelly With A Shotgun. He then invented the northern city of Kilchester and set a series there. The Dali Deception (2016) starts it, with the thief Violet Winters hired to lift a Salvador Dalí from a converted Cold War bunker under the Kilchester Bank and leave a fake behind, the joke being that the Dalí is a signed blank canvas. Kill It With Fire picks Winters up after a double-cross. Maxwell also writes the Defective Detective and Lost Bookshop books, and a volume of writing prompts called Lost the Plot?
