Allison Brennan
1969
Thirteen years advising the California State Legislature came before Allison Brennan's first novel. She sold The Prey in 2005, left the job, and has kept to roughly three books a year ever since, with the debut taking a Borders award for bestselling debut author. The early romantic thrillers include Fear No Evil, Cutting Edge and Fatal Secrets. In 2010 she started the Lucy Kincaid books, following a young woman who survives a violent attack and later joins the FBI; the series now runs past seventeen novels and takes in Kiss Me, Kill Me, Stalked and Dead Heat. The Sorority Murder (2021) opened a separate line about Regan Merritt, a former US marshal back in her Arizona hometown and pulled into a student's death through a campus podcast. Seven Girls Gone (2023) belongs to her Quinn and Costa mobile response unit books. Brennan grew up in Northern California, raised five children, and moved to Arizona in 2019.
