Alex Knightly Books released the work in 2019, classifying it as post-apocalyptic science fiction. Knightly continues the story in Fighting Darkness, the second volume of the sequence. The first book focuses on collective problem-solving instead of isolated survival: people with different skills and temperaments must cooperate before danger, distrust, and scarcity pull them apart.
