Alex P. Berg

Alex P. Berg writes comic mystery and urban fantasy, often combining investigations with supernatural complications. Red Hot Steele belongs to the Daggers & Steele sequence and follows detectives Jake Daggers and Shay Steele. Exact-work records place the title among Berg's Steele books, while broader bibliography listings show neighbouring instalments including Time to Steele, Cold Hard Steele, and Steele of the Night. The series uses its paired investigators as the continuing anchor, allowing each case to develop within an established professional partnership. Berg's titles signal a playful tone, but the books retain the structure of mystery fiction through clues, suspects, danger, and the pressure to solve a case. Red Hot Steele is therefore most useful to readers when viewed as part of an ongoing sequence rather than as an isolated title. It offers a concise entry into Berg's blend of procedural momentum, banter, and speculative elements. Readers who enjoy recurring detective teams can follow how Daggers and Steele's working relationship develops alongside the changing problems each volume presents across the sequence.
