Anna Stuart

Stuart writes historical fiction set in the worst places she can find people surviving in. The Midwife of Auschwitz is built on Stanisława Leszczyńska, the Polish midwife who delivered thousands of babies inside the camp, refused an order to kill them, and has since been put forward for sainthood. The Constant Queen goes back to eleventh-century Norway and Kyiv. Code Name Elodie is set in occupied France. She published women's fiction under a different name first.
