Annastaysia Savage is a writer and visual artist whose fiction for younger readers combines everyday isolation with fantasy and horror. Any Witch Way follows Sadie as she approaches her thirteenth birthday, endures ridicule at school, and refuses to believe her mother died in a car crash three years earlier. When her birthday arrives, Sadie is drawn into a magical world beneath ordinary life and learns that she is becoming a witch. She also discovers that the Syndicate threatens that world, turning her search for identity into a fight for its survival. JournalStone published the middle grade fantasy in 2011. Savage studied fine art at Arizona State University and pursued graduate work in creative writing and sculpture. Her other published work includes Ghosts in the Fire and short fiction in JournalStone's 2010 Warped Words for Twisted Minds. Any Witch Way connects grief and self-doubt to the responsibility that comes with new power, allowing Sadie's confidence to grow through action.
