Annette Marie

Annette Marie writes urban fantasy built around magical institutions, quick dialogue, and overlapping casts. Rogue Ghosts And Other Miscreants corresponds to the official styling Rogue Ghosts & Other Miscreants, which she co-wrote with Rob Jacobsen. Published during 2021, this Warped book holds the third main position in its series and returns to former con artist Kit Morris after his promotion within MagiPol. Kit and his partner Lienna investigate a missing teenager while contradictory orders and a secretive superior complicate their assignment. The book also brings characters and organizations from the wider Guild Codex universe into Kit’s viewpoint, rewarding familiarity with the connected Spellbound, Demonized, and Unveiled sequences without abandoning the Warped plot. Marie’s wider work includes the Steel & Stone and Red Winter series, while Jacobsen contributes to the Warped books as coauthor. Their collaboration balances Kit’s irreverent narration with an investigation that tests whether institutional rules deserve obedience when they obstruct the person he is trying to protect.
