Avery Carpenter Forrey
Avery Carpenter Forrey brings experience in editing and digital media to fiction about friendship, class, and carefully arranged public images. Her debut novel Social Engagement follows Callie Holt as she looks back over a year of weddings and relationships after her own celebration unravels. Mariner Books issued the book, which considers the distance between private experience and the polished stories presented online. Forrey was a founding member of theSkimm team and served as its managing editor. She also co-wrote the number-one New York Times bestseller How to Skimm Your Life, earned an MFA in fiction from New York University, and has contributed writing to The Cut, GQ, and Lit Hub. That background gives her novel a precise view of how people make their lives visible to others.
