A whodunnit theatre troupe, staging interactive crime evenings for paying audiences, was Becca Day's way into crime fiction. She trained as an actor at Guildford College, built the company, then sold it and wrote novels instead. The Girl Beyond the Gate arrived in March 2022 and became a Kindle bestseller; All Her Little Lies followed from Embla Books that October. It is set on a farm belonging to Cynthia's mother, where Cynthia and her friend Alex have raised their families side by side for years, until Alex finds one of Cynthia's eighteen year old twins dead in the house. Day lives in Surrey with her husband, two daughters and a cocker spaniel, is represented by Emily Glenister at DHH Literary Agency, works on membership and marketing at the literary consultancy Jericho Writers, and has run reading parties with the novelist William Shaw.
