Trained in economics at Stanford, Bella Andre came up through Ellora's Cave and then Simon & Schuster from 2005. Her publisher declined to contract the next trilogy early in 2010, and that March she began self-publishing through Amazon under an imprint she created, Oak Press. In October 2012 she signed an unusual agreement with Harlequin MIRA that handed the publisher print rights while she kept digital and foreign translation rights. Her sales have passed eight million copies. The Way You Look Tonight opened the Seattle branch of her long-running Sullivan family series, pairing the private investigator Rafe Sullivan with the woman living next door to the lake house he has come back to repair. Just to Be with You, thirteenth in that sequence, belongs to Ian Sullivan, who built and runs Sullivan Investments. Cape Cod Promises, written with Melissa Foster, is the second Love on Rockwell Island book and brings back together a couple who divorced ten years earlier. Love Me continued the story begun in Take Me. Her gentler contemporary romances appear as Lucy Kevin.
